This program is designed to teach students hands-on care to residents of a long-term care facility as well as private residence. The student is trained in how to meet the needs of the resident's physical and psychosocial needs, and to provide a safe environment for the resident while fulfilling responsibilities to the employer. It further prepares the student to pass the state certification test for Nurse Assistant.
The mission of the program is to develop skillful, critical thinking and caring Nurse assistants who will function within the roles and responsibilities as required by the State of Michigan. Serenity Health Training Institute’s Nurse Assistant program is designed to prepare qualified individuals to become safe and effective Nurse Assistants. Graduates of the program are prepared to take the program competency evaluation, which is the required test for state certification.
Whether desiring to meet state licensure requirements and practice as a Nurse assistant, or continuing on with more advanced Nurse education, Serenity Health Training Institute prepares students through classroom instruction, assisted tutoring, hands-on lab practice, and clinical experience. Upon successful completion of the program and passing the state certification exam, graduates earn the formal designation of CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant).
Serenity Health Training Institute’s Nurse Assistant training program is designed as a pre-Nursing course and prepares the student for entry level positions on the Nursing career path. Instruction is presented in the basic sciences as it relates to the human body and health.
